Cone was operating well when removed from service. Cone was dismantled, pressure washed, and inspected. The following was found in good to very good condition: Mainframe and springs, countershaft box, sheave, frame and arm liners, head and mainshaft, wipers, socket and socket liner, socket sealing ring, bushings, threads, main gear lash, countershaft lash, feed cone, feed chute, wedges, adjustment rods, integral lubrication pump, and manganese 40-50%. The socket sealing ring springs and holders have been updated to the Support Tube style. Has good original lubrication tank.
The following work was done:
1. Pressured washed the entire machine, including threads.
2. Installed new Support Tube.
3. Installed new adjustment ring seal and adjustment cap dust collar.
4. Installed several new adjustment rods. 5.Installed new socket sealing ring seal.
6. Greased all the threads, wipers, socket sealing ring, socket liner.
7. Painted the cone.
Many pictures available of inside and outside of the cone. Can provide a custom quote delivered to the border crossing or port of choice. Can be shipped inside a 40' HC container.

THE SYMONS 4 1/4SH CONE CRUSHER CAN BE COMBINED WITH OUR CEDARAPIDS 25X40 JAW CRUSHER. THE TWO TOGETHER CAN PRODUCE OVER 250 TONS PER HOUR. BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF MAKING 250 TONS PER HOUR OF 1" AND SMALLER MATERIAL FROM A HARD ROCK QUARRY. WE CAN PROVIDE A CUSTOM ANALYSIS FOR YOUR SPECIFIC OPERATION.

PORTABLE CONE CRUSHERS

PLEASE CONTACT US FOR CURRENTLY AVAILABLE PORTABLE CONE CRUSHING PLANTS.

Note: Allis Chalmers crushers became Allis Minerals, then were bought by Svedala, then by Metso Minerals. Currently parts are available from Svedala or Metso Minerals, the current owner of Nordberg Symons crushing equipment.
Allis Chalmers cone crushers can be changed from a standard to a fine cone by changing the manganese liners, making them very adaptable to your changing crushing needs. Allis Chalmers cone crushers were the original cones using hydraulic adjustment and hydraulic relief. They are also very heavy duty, with very good production capacity. Please see below more information on Allis Chalmers Hydrocone crushers, a very special crusher.

CONE CRUSHERS ARE BECOMING MORE DIFFICULT TO LOCATE, ESPECIALLY AT GOOD PRICING. IF YOU NEED A CONE CRUSHER PLEASE CONTACT US. DESCRIBE WHAT YOU WANT:
  • JUST THE CONE WITH LUBRICATION SYSTEM?
  • MOUNTED ON A FRAMEWORK OR SKID MOUNTED?
  • PORTABLE; WITH JUST THE CONE OR WITH A SCREEN?
  • POWERED BY DIESEL ENGINE OR ELECTRIC MOTOR?
  • HOW MANY TONS PER HOUR TO BE PROCESSED BY THE CONE?
  • WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAXIMUM SIZE FEED ROCK?
  • WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM SIZE OF YOUR FINAL PRODUCT YOU WANT TO PRODUCE?
  • DO YOU WANT A CLOSE CIRCUIT PLANT?

ALLIS CHALMERS, ALLIS MINERALS, BOLIDEN ALLIS, AND SVEDALA HYDROCONE CRUSHERS ***
A BRIEF HISTORY

Allis Chalmers started manufacturing construction and crushing equipment in 1878. Over the years they became known for building well designed and reliable equipment. They made many innovations in equipment design, many times leading the industry. One of their more well known innovations was the introduction of using hydraulics in their design of cone crushers. The hydraulics were used to raise and lower the main shaft to change the discharge setting hydraulically, including on-the-go. This allowed much faster and precise adjustments to meet output specifications. It also allowed for hydraulic relief from the introduction of uncrushables such as pieces of steel. Please see the side cutaway view below illustrating the Hydrocone. Alis Chalmers also licensed other manufacturers in other parts of the world to build the Hydrocone, sometimes under other trade names like Boliden Allis, or Kobelco Allis Chalmers.

The Allis Chalmers gyratory earned a well-deserved international reputation for building heavy-duty large gyratory crushers for the mining industry. Many of those large gyratory crushers are still working after 40 years and millions of tons of throughput.

In 1988 Svedala purchased Allis Chalmers, the same year that Nordberg, manufacturer of the Symons cone crushers, was purchased by Metso. Over the next few years Svedala bought many more crushing and aggregate related companies, including Tyler, Tidco (originator of the Barmac VSI), and Kue Ken. Metso, which had become the Nordberg Group was also purchasing many other aggregate related companies. In 2000 Metso Corporation made an offer to purchase Svedala. In the spring of 2001 Nordberg became Metso Minerals. Later in the year the final purchase of Svedala was made and the merging of Nordberg and Svedala, and all the companies they had been purchasing, were merged into one entity: Metso Minerals.

Today Metso Minerals still supports the previous products produced by the former companies with parts, except the Hydrocone series of cone crushers are supported by Sandvik. Other OEM suppliers are also able to supply aftermarket parts and service. Some of the name brands that Metso supports include Allis Chalmers, Allis Minerals, Svedala, Nordberg Symons cones, Kue Ken jaw and cone crushers, Denver ball and rod mills, KVS, Marcy ball and rod mills, Hardinge, Nico apron feeders, Gardner Denver, and many others.

ALLIS CHALMERS HYDROCONE CRUSHER FEATURES AND BENEFITS

One of the first features you will notice in the illustration is the steep angle of the bowl. This feature has been adopted by other cone manufacturers in their more recent models. It allows greater production capacity. A Allis Chalmers 9-45 (9" feed opening, 45" diameter), set at a 3/4" closed side discharge opening, is rated at 205 tons per hour, while a Symons 4' standard cone set at 3/4" discharge setting is rated for 155 tons per hour. The typical gradation curve of the discharged product from a Hydrocone contains a higher percentage of the desirable mid-range products, thanks in large part to the design of the liners.

The second feature is the support structure for the main shaft at the top. This reduces the side stresses on the lower bronze and seals, and makes for a more rigid and balanced support on both sides of the actual crushing surface. It also acts as a guide for the main shaft when it is being raised and lowered.

One of the key benefits of a Hydrocone crusher is their versatility. By changing only the manganese style you can go from a standard style crusher to a fine cone (shorthead) crusher without having to purchase one if your needs change.

In terms of adjustments to the discharge setting needed to meet your aggregate requirements the Hydrocone is unrivaled. It can be adjusted while operating under load, which means you can actually see the result of the adjustments coming out immediately. No more stopping and starting when trying to fine tune the best discharge setting. The same hydraulic system provides relief if a piece of steel goes into the crusher, and with the hydraulic system it is easy to open up the opening and remove the steel.

The Alis Chalmers Hydrocone crushers are a viable alternative to purchasing a Symons cone crusher. They typically cost less to purchase, have greater production, have more good features, are as well made as the Symons or Telsmith crushers, and parts are available from Metso Minerals or alternative sources.
